Matthew K. Black, DDS

Patients have placed their trust in me and my team to take care of them. I’m grateful for that trust and strive to make my patients as comfortable as possible for their treatment.

Meet Dr. Black

Dr. Matthew Black is an oral surgeon who strives to provide every patient with compassionate care. During college, Dr. Black explored various career paths. This included training to become an EMT, which exposed him to surgical procedures, patient care, and anesthesia. As an active-duty member of the military, he was deployed to Iraq where his friend suggested a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Black began shadowing the different dental specialties and was drawn to oral and maxillofacial surgery for its complexity as well as the ability to safely administer anesthesia.

Searching for a practice with a team-oriented mentality and dedication to providing excellent care, Dr. Black quickly became interested in joining the Columbia Basin Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons team. He believes in treating others with kindness and respect. He has found that same philosophy among the experts at this practice. The surgeons here are genuine, sincere, and treat patients like members of their own family. Thus, he is excited to care for patients in his new community—and home.

When you visit Dr. Black, you can expect to feel welcomed and heard. He understands patient anxiety and works hard to establish trust so that patients can feel comfortable. This means actively listening and taking the time to educate them regarding their treatment options. To him, one of the most rewarding aspects of his practice is learning that his patients have had an exceptional surgical experience.
